Arrowhead Pointe

Arrowhead Point Golf Course was constructed after the completion of roads, camp sites, beach areas and picnic pavilions in Lake Russell State Park.

This course, designed by Bob Walker, features many mountain-like elevation changes, with many tee boxes located 20-30 feet above the greens. These changes in elevation provide panoramic views of the Savannah River and the course itself.

There is a large practice tee area that can accommodate as many as 30 golfers. A spacious clubhouse provides visitors with a beautiful place for snacks and dining, from sandwiches to other selctions in the Broken Arrow Grill – making it a favorite in the local area among golfers and non-golfers alike.

Arrowhead Pointe is unmatched in the local area as a venue for outings and business meetings. During many summer weekends the course hosts an many events.

The course takes its name from the many Native American Indian mounds, sites, and relics that were excavated near the park in 1980 before the lake was filled. Paleo-Indians lived in the area more than 10,000 years ago, and because the 18 holes are located on a peninsula surrounded by the pristine lake. Arrowheads can be found throughout the entire course to validate the Indian presence many years ago.

Arrowhead Pointe was named in TravelGolf.com’s Top 10 Courses in Georgia, alongside such venerable courses as Augusta National, East Lake, TPC at Sugarloaf and Ocean Forest. Arrowhead Pointe is the only public course on the elite list.

If you visit Arrowhead Pointe, please consider reserving one of the Park’s cabins for you and your party. You will find complete information and reservation contacts at https://gastateparks.org/RichardBRussell.
